UPDATES!!!

10 June - Continuing Journeys

Ed Overton weighs ibn today with the next chapter of "The Salesman Comes" - who will be next to pick up the baton?

Also, George's Journey continues as he gets "Back on Track," and we bring the story of the Family of Crime up to date with a new story for the site called "Mother's Day".

9 June - and we carry on re-living the past

Mainly by re-building the "Tales From The WABAC Machine" section, and adding anew tale set in wartime Scotland called "Over The Sea".

8 June - Rebuilding continues

OK - we now have the Gentlemen Robbers and Relative Perils sections fully restored.  Drop in to the Discussion Forum and let me know which sectiosn you want to be fully loaded up next.

Coming soon - the next chapter in The Salemsan Calls, some more Mutliple Maidens stories, and a very special WABAC tale....

5 June - three more stories added

Three more stories back up.  In the "Reflections" section is Relfections II, a meditation on the consequences of robbing your own wife.  In "George's Journey" we get to the next stage with Lily the Pink, while in "Multiple Miadens" we look at the world of the American Beauty.

3 June - The Salesman Comes....

So here's the situation.  Some time ago I got this story request from madddogmk1

"1. Gang stages home robberies with the intent of also invloving the victims' Avon lady
2. During the robberies, the Avon ladies' customer info, including credit card info, is copied, Avon ladies are unaware that this happened. As far as they know, they were just involved in a home robbery.
3. Gang orders expensive items off of the various TV home shopping channels using names and credit card info from the Avon customers
4. Gang has inside people at the area UPS centers who notify the gang when items are to be delivered
5. Gang robs the victim's house on the day of delivery and accepts package from UPS, while customer and other females in the house are 'indisposed'.
6. Several victims report that the robbers seemed to stay much longer than was necessary to just rob them.
7. Gang has inside people at the various TV home shopping channels so when the customer calls saying that she was charged for something that she never ordered, or recieved, the inside person apologizes and credits her account
8. Over a period of time the police notice that several home robbery victims have the same Avon Lady and that the Avon Lady was also a victim. From the way that the women were tied and gagged, they decide that one gang is doing all the robberies [victims are interviewed as to how they were tied up, with a female detective being bound and gagged according to how the victim describes how she remembers herself and the others being bound[ you get the idea]].
9. A few days after the latest robbery, the victim reports that her neighbor asked what she got from UPS on the day of the robbery.
10. That turns the police onto the UPS connection and eventually the TV home shopping connection."

At the time, I half-jokingly said there was a novel here, but when he sent me an opening chapter yesterday it got me thinking - and this is my decision.  Under the umbrella of "The Salesman Comes", I'm inviting everyone to submit a story that fits this basic premise.  I'll act as editor, collator an doccasional contirbutor, and let's see what comes of it.

The Gauntlet has been thrown down - will you respond?

30 May - As Promised

Full restoration of Madame X and The Cat Tales has been acheived - including moving a story form another section that belonged with the resy of the Madame X tales.

27 May - Filling out Requests

I've now finished restoring all the Reader's Requests stories from the old site - and as a special treat, I've added the sequel to "Guests for the Weekend", "Return Visit."

I'm also running a couple of polls over in the discussion board, which I'd like readers to answer.  One is clear cut, one is not...

25 May - Ginger Day

I am pleased to say that the "Perils of Ginger" section is now fully updated with the stories of Ginger Cavanaugh.  Read, peruse, and if you have any ideas for new stories let em or Ed Overton know.

19 May - New Across The Board

One new story in every section of the site (apart from Contributions) today - read and enjoy.

14 May - An Apology and An Appeal

I'm away on business for the next week or so, so I'm not sure when the next update will be.  Worst case scenario in the 21st - next Thursday.

So, to make up for that, in the "Multiple Maidens" section is anew story I call "Gated Community".  Please, everyone, read it and tell me what you think - especialyl abotu what happens when you click on the highlighted text.  With luck (and registration if you have to) we have the new way for stroies to fully restored...

Also restored are tales in the WABAC machine from the Second World War, and early story of the China Doll Gang, and the original entry in the Reflections series.

13 May - Contributor's day

Four tales from four different writers - I want to encourage all those who think they can contribute soemthing to the site to try their hand as Bound Is Best did with his second tale "Bound With A View".  We also have two stories in the "Perils of Ginger" section, as Ed Overton tells the tale of the "Robbery at the B&G Credit Union", and Jim from Hanford offers the tale of "A Day at the Lake."  Finally, Mordaca offers another of his stories as he relates the tale of "The Faithful Bloody Maria."

12 May - Requests!!

Our four stories today are old ones that have been requested for early upload to the site, so I hope you enjoy reading them, either again for the first time.

We continue George's journey as a student has "Lunch with George," while the Gentlemen Robbers indulge in promoting "Family Ties".  Elsewhere, The Cat shares some more of hsi tales from visits he paid in February in "Cupid and The Cat", and Madame X feels a trip to the USA is in order to investigate "Moving Pictures."

As always, comments and discussion are welcomed over on the discussion board.

8th May - Across the Board

Stories have been added to Objects of Beauty, Reader's Requests, Relative Perils, The Cat's Memoirs and The Sporting Life for your weekend amusement.

I also invite you all to go to the discussion board, where I'm runnign a poll to see which sectiosn you want fully restored first.  Make yoru voice known.

7th May - one and three

One new story and three old ones today.  For the new, we have tale of mulitple maidens entitled "Fair Cop" for reasons that will become clear as you read it.

As for the old - in the On My Own section we invite you to consider what happens on the "Maid's Night Off".  Meanwhile, the China Doll Gang invite a reporter to be an unwilling "Witness to Distress", while we celebrate another major holiday with Holiday Hostages enjoying their "Thanksgiving Turkey."

As always, your comments are welcomed.

5th May - the non-me author day

Where I get to provide new stories by people other than myself.  In this case, it's a reason to kick off a new "Contributions" section for stories readers sent in to me other than those by Mordaca or Ed.  We begin with a tale offered by Bound_is_Best called "Heist at the Harrogate Tearooms."

Talking of Ed and Mordaca - in the "Perils of Ginger" section is probably my favourite story by him around Ginger Cavanaugh, "Invitation to Danger" while we also offer another tale by Mordaca called "Explanations".

More stories from me tomorrow.

1 May - some more additions

So, today we have as a new story "A Mother's Tale", freshly drawn from the WABAC machine.  I've also added three oldies but goodies - the first ever appearance of The Gentlemen Robbers in "Like Mother, Like Daughter", the next stage of George's Journey in "Morning Caller", and an appearence from the Family of crime as it is "Time For Tea."

Next upate on Tuesday next week.

28 April - the rebuilding starts

Over the next few weeks, two or three times a week I will add two old and one new story to the site for your reading pleasure - starting today.

The new story is in the Reflections folder, and is simply called Shellie.  It was inspired by a sequence of photos, and I hope you enjoy it.

Some of you have started to request your favourite stories to go back up, and today we have two requests from Tazz.  The first is a Ginger Cavanaugh story that I wrote, called The Ring, and is in the Perils of Ginger set.  The second is a tale of Madame X, and poses the question as to what is The Most Unusual of Ransoms.

Remember the discussion forum is open for you to post comments and requests.

23 April - Getting Started

Well, I now have most of the story areas set up, with at least one story in each part that I believe is representative of the sort of thing I like to put in.  Over the next few weeks, I'll pick stories to add alongside new ones.

If there are any stories you want to add first, then tell me by signing up for the discussion forum here and sharing your thoughts - all are welcome if you agree to play nice.  I am a firm but fair admin, and I follow the Hoover philosophy of speaking softly and carrying a big sttick.

22 April -- Once More With Feeling

In which we hope we've finally found a home we can call our own.

Welcome back, folks, to the show they can't shut down. I'm KP, your host, and this with any luck will be a slightly more permanent home for the stories you were so kind to appreciate over at the Webs site.  As you will have discovered by now, we have our own URL, and you can look forward to a mix of old and new stories over the next few weeks.

There are a few down sides -- the big one being that I'm not going to be able to add photos for the foreseeable future.  It's not that I can't -- believe me I can -- but I think the priority is getting some stories back up here. I also want time to play around with the host software -- and I now need to crate my own web pages. The design is simple for one reason -- I'm creating these using MS Word.  I don't have £250 to buy MS Frontpage just now...

There is a forum that can be used for this site, but again give me a couple of weeks before I get that started.  For now, settle for this simple truth -- I'm back.

Oh -- and I'm keeping a promise to Ed Overton by making the first story up on the new site a new one from his Ginger Cavanaugh series.

As ever, your comments and suggestions are welcomed -- that never changes.  Keep the faith.
